NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES Publishes ‘THE100 Report’ Analyzing Assets and Retirement Preparation of Working-Class Households

[Edaily Reporter Park Sun-Yeop ] NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES(005940)announced on the 22nd that the 100-Year Life Research Institute has published “THE100 Report No. 129,” which analyzes the economic conditions and retirement preparedness of working households in South Korea.
THE100 Report is a periodic research publication by NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES’ 100-Year Life Institute that covers topics related to the “100-year life era,” such as lifetime asset management and aging trends.

Based on microdata from the National Data Agency’s 2025 Household Finance and Welfare Survey, this report analyzed the asset and income structures, major expenditure categories, and retirement preparedness levels of working households.
According to the report, working households are categorized into regular employee households and temporary/daily worker households based on employment status, and factors such as job stability and residential area were found to have a significant impact on asset accumulation.
Based on the analysis results, the 100-Year Life Research Institute also proposed a “two-track asset management strategy” that distinguishes and manages discretionary assets and retirement assets separately. The explanation states that assets available for short-term use and those intended for long-term retirement living should be managed separately to simultaneously pursue asset growth and retirement preparation.
Kim Dong-ik, Director of the NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES 100-Year Life Institute, stated, “If working households systematically manage their assets by distinguishing between discretionary assets and retirement assets—two separate goals—they can achieve synergistic effects in terms of asset growth and retirement preparation,” adding, “This approach can increase the likelihood of a more stable retirement.”
Issue No. 129 of THE100 Report is available on the NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES website under the 100-Year Life Research Institute section.
