OCI Holdings Company Ltd. announced the previous day that its consolidated operating profit for the second quarter was 108 billion won, marking a return to profitability from a loss of 80.3 billion won in the same period last year. Revenue increased by 31.8% to 1.0232 trillion won, and net income stood at 60.6 billion won. This marks three consecutive quarters of operating profit since the fourth quarter of last year. This is due to the sale of a 500-megawatt (MW) solar project by its U.S. subsidiary, OCI Energy, as well as consistent improvements in the performance of its major subsidiaries. OCI Holdings Company Ltd. plans to expand its polysilicon production capacity from the current 35,000 metric tons per year to 70,000 metric tons by 2029 to meet demand from the U.S. artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure and space industries. Its Vietnamese wafer subsidiary, NeoSilicon Technology, also plans to increase its production capacity to 11.5 gigawatts (GW) during the same period. Hwang Seong-hyun, an analyst at EUGENE INVESTMENT & SECURITIES, stated in a report released today, “The establishment of a supply chain for the space industry is taking shape thanks to new long-term supply contracts and decisions to expand production capacity,” and maintained a “Buy” rating and a target price of 400,000 won.
