(Photo = Yonhap News) OpenAI announced that Chairman Lee and CEO Altman are scheduled to hold a meeting with key executives from both companies in San Francisco on the morning of the 25th (local time). The two sides are expected to focus their discussions on ways to collaborate in the field of AI infrastructure, including high-bandwidth memory (HBM), DRAM, and advanced foundry services. Plans to apply generative AI across SamsungElectronics’ operations are also expected to be a key agenda item. SamsungElectronics is one of OpenAI’s largest global corporate customers and has decided to roll out ChatGPT and the AI coding tool Codex to all its employees. It is anticipated that this meeting will explore ways to link SamsungElectronics’ memory semiconductor and foundry capabilities with OpenAI’s large-scale AI infrastructure projects. Specific details regarding semiconductor supply volumes, investment規模, and contract schedules have not yet been disclosed.
