First-half revenue surpassed 10 trillion won, and second-quarter revenue exceeded 5 trillion won, setting an all-time high. Growing demand for semiconductor substrates for artificial intelligence (AI) servers gave a significant boost to the company’s performance.

LG Innotek announced on the 27th that its consolidated operating profit for the second quarter of this year surged 2,057.3% year-over-year to 245.8 billion won.

Revenue rose 41% year-over-year to 5.5272 trillion won. This marks the highest second-quarter revenue in the company’s history. Including first-quarter results, first-half revenue reached 11.0621 trillion won, marking the first time the company has surpassed 10 trillion won in first-half revenue.

A company official explained, “Despite the seasonal off-peak period, robust demand for mobile camera modules continued following the first quarter, and strong supply of high-value-added semiconductor substrates also persisted.” The official added, “Mobility components, such as automotive camera, communication, and lighting modules, also contributed to the revenue growth.”

To strengthen its high-margin business portfolio, LG Innotek is also accelerating the growth of strategic businesses such as Physical AI, centered on autonomous driving and robotics. In particular, the company is prioritizing the expansion of its highly profitable and high-growth package solutions business.

Kyung Eun-guk, Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of LG Innotek, said, “In response to the surging demand amid the semiconductor boom, we have begun expanding our semiconductor substrate production plant in Vietnam and are also considering additional investments.” He added, “Through expanded capital expenditures (CAPEX), as well as differentiated technological capabilities and the application of AI-driven transformation (AX) to production processes, we will firmly establish the package solutions business as the company’s core business.”
