Through this agreement, CJ ENM CO., Ltd. will sequentially release a total of approximately 100 dramas and other content titles—including 26 new productions—on Amazon Prime Video India over the next two years. This strategy aims to meet the growing local demand for K-dramas while significantly expanding access to premium K-content. The company is also focusing on localization. New titles will feature English subtitles as well as dubbing in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu to lower language barriers and make it easier for a diverse audience across India to enjoy K-content. This collaboration is an extension of CJ ENM CO., Ltd.’s strategy to expand its global business. Following the signing of a global partnership with Amazon Prime Video last year, the company entered the Indian ad-supported OTT market through Amazon MX Player. By expanding this collaboration to include subscription-based (SVOD) services, CJ ENM CO., Ltd. has further strengthened its foothold in the Indian market. With a population of approximately 1.4 billion, India is a key market attracting the attention of global OTT companies. As interest in Korean content—particularly K-dramas and K-pop—has been growing rapidly, competition among global platforms to secure K-content has become even more intense. The collaboration between the two companies will kick off in earnest with *Yumi’s Cells Season 3*. Following that, major new releases such as *Secret Gratitude*, *The Legend of the Cook*, and the romantic comedy *My Favorite Employee* are scheduled to be released sequentially. Silanagi Mukherjee, Head of SVOD for Amazon Prime Video India, said, “We are delighted to expand our partnership with CJ ENM CO., Ltd. to the Indian market,” adding, “We look forward to introducing premium K-content to more Indian viewers.” Manish Menghani, Head of Content Licensing for Amazon Prime Video India, remarked, “Given the rapidly growing demand for K-content in India, this partnership is a natural next step,” adding, “It will serve as an opportunity to enhance Prime Video India’s competitiveness in global content.” Seo Jang-ho, Head of the Platform Business Division at CJ ENM CO., Ltd., remarked, “It is meaningful to partner with Prime Video in India, the world’s fastest-growing entertainment market,” and added, “We will continue to expand the global reach of Korean storytelling by introducing K-content to more local viewers.”
