[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] C-Lab ( XIIlab Co., Ltd(189330)), a company specializing in physical AI, announced on the 31st that it has been selected for the “2026 Testbed Seoul” pilot support program organized by the Seoul Business Agency (SBA) with its AI fire monitoring system project and will begin pilot testing at a traditional market in Seongdong-gu.

The pilot will take place from this month through June of next year at Geumnam Market and Ttukdo Market in Seongdong-gu. XIIlab Co., Ltd plans to use its AI video analysis solution, “XAIVA,” to validate fire detection and safety management functions within traditional markets.

XAIVA incorporates algorithms and dynamic pattern analysis technology that have received performance certification in the fire prevention category from the Korea Internet & Security Agency (KISA). The company explained that its goal is to reduce false alarms by more than 90% compared to existing sensor-based systems and to improve the accuracy of fire and smoke detection in the environment of traditional markets, which feature aging wiring and densely packed shops.

In this pilot, the system will be operated using up to 70 existing CCTV cameras per market, without the need to build separate infrastructure. The company expects that this software-based approach will reduce capital expenditure (CAPEX) by more than 30%.

In the event of a fire, a summary video clip lasting approximately 10 seconds—covering the moments before and after the incident—will be sent via AlimTalk to market managers and merchants. The system will also test a one-click reporting feature accessible via a “Report” button within the notification. Safety management features, such as nighttime intrusion and loitering detection and crowd density alerts, are also included in the pilot.

Based on the results of this pilot, XIIlab Co., Ltd plans to expand the service to traditional markets and areas vulnerable to fires and crowd congestion throughout Seoul, in line with the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s “Safe Seoul 2.0” and Seongdong-gu’s “Smart Inclusive City” policies.

Yoon Se-hyuk, CEO of XIIlab Co., Ltd, stated, “This project is a crucial initiative to verify the effectiveness of our proven AI video analysis technology in preventing risks to citizens in real-world settings,” adding, “Based on a low-cost, high-efficiency approach that leverages existing infrastructure, we will expand our intelligent safety network across all of Seoul, starting with Seongdong-gu.”
