[Edaily Kang Gyeong-rok Travel Reporter] The Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation announced that it held the awards ceremony for the “2026 Sejong Emotion Photo and Video Contest” at the Park Yeon Cultural Center in Sejong City on the 30th, selecting and awarding prizes to 14 outstanding works that captured everyday life and the urban atmosphere of Sejong.
This contest was organized to discover and promote tourism content unique to Sejong City. Previously, the Foundation identified the “Top 10 Scenes of Sejong’s Charm” based on 2,214 pieces of citizen feedback collected last year. As a result of holding a nationwide photography and video contest centered on this theme, a total of 753 entries—including 711 photos and 42 videos—were submitted.

Following the judging, the Grand Prize in the photography category went to Song Yun-hee’s “Window to Nature,” which captured the serene scenery of the Korean Garden at the Sejong National Arboretum from a view through a window. The Grand Prize in the video category was awarded to Jang Hyun-ha’s “Sejong, Where Children Are Happy,” which expressed the happiness of everyday life and the city’s charm by exploring various local tourist attractions from a child’s perspective.
The Foundation plans to showcase the selected winning works through various online and offline channels, including the Visit Sejong social media accounts, the tourism archive “Capturing Sejong,” offline exhibitions, and public promotional media.
Particularly noteworthy is the open access to the winning entries. With the consent of the winners, the Foundation has decided to apply the “Public Creative Commons License (Gongnuri)” to the selected works. As a result, not only public institutions but also any member of the public will be able to freely use these works at no cost, subject to the specified terms of use.
Park Young-guk, CEO of the Sejong City Culture and Tourism Foundation, stated, “This contest was a meaningful project that allowed anyone to directly capture the daily life and charm of Sejong and collaborate in creating a tourism brand.” He added, “We will continue to utilize the winning entries in various promotional content to further spread the ‘Sejong Sensibility’ tourism brand.”
