Previously, L&F announced in a disclosure the previous day that its consolidated operating profit for the second quarter of this year was tentatively estimated at 20.8 billion won, marking a return to profitability compared to the same period last year (an operating loss of 121.2 billion won). Revenue reached 885 billion won, a 70.2% increase year-over-year. Net income turned positive at 52.9 billion won. Driven by expanded sales of high-nickel cathode materials, second-quarter shipments reached a record high for any quarter, and this year’s LFP shipment volume is projected to exceed the initial annual plan, with shipments expected to exceed 50,000 metric tons next year. On the same day, NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES also released a report stating that while concerns remain regarding the diversification of cathode material supplies to Tesla, this is expected to be offset by new demand in North America and growing demand for LFP (lithium iron phosphate) cathode materials for energy storage systems (ESS). The firm maintained its “Buy” investment rating.
