LOTTE WELLFOOD announced on the 7th that it recorded a consolidated operating profit of 64.7 billion won in the second quarter of this year. This represents an 88.5% increase compared to the same period last year. During the same period, revenue rose 8.6% to 1.1558 trillion won, and net income increased 130.1% to 36.1 billion won.
Hana Securities maintained its “Buy” rating and target price of 200,000 won for LOTTE WELLFOOD. This is the highest target price among securities firms.
Shim Eun-ju, an analyst at Hana Securities, commented, “We are in a phase where earnings visibility is recovering,” adding, “The current stock price is trading at a 12-month forward price-to-earnings ratio (PER) of 8.5x, so valuation concerns are limited.”
LS SECURITIES also raised its target price to 170,000 won from the previous level. Park Seong-ho, an analyst at LS SECURITIES, stated, “Expectations for second-half earnings are rising, given that the company posted strong results even amid concerns that cost pressures would be most severe due to the Middle East crisis in the second quarter,” adding, “Although the stock price surged immediately after the earnings announcement, we still believe it offers high valuation appeal.”
Other securities firms also raised their target prices in succession. Hana Securities set the highest target price at 200,000 won, while KYOBOSECURITIESCO.,LTD. set it at 175,000 won. HyundaiMotor, LS, HANWHA INVESTMENT & SECURITIES, DS, and KIWOOM Securities each set their target prices at 170,000 won; NH INVESTMENT & SECURITIES and Yuanta Securities Korea at 165,000 won; Korea Investment & Securities at 160,000 won; and Daol Investment & Securities at 150,000 won.
