Medy-Tox Inc.(086900)Medytox continued its revenue growth in the second quarter of this year, driven by expanded overseas sales of botulinum toxin and dermal fillers, as well as the successful market launch of its fat-reduction injection “NewViju.” However, operating profit and net income declined due to cost burdens associated with business expansion.

Medy-Tox Inc. announced on the 10th that it recorded consolidated revenue of 68.7 billion won, operating profit of 4.8 billion won, and net income of 3.1 billion won for the second quarter of this year. Revenue increased by 11.4% compared to the same period last year, while operating profit and net income decreased by 24.6% and 61.7%, respectively, due to factors such as increased costs associated with business expansion.

Revenue growth was driven by steady expansion of the domestic and international toxin and filler businesses, as well as the rapid market penetration of NewViju in the domestic market.

Sales of botulinum toxin products remained robust in both domestic and international markets, and the overseas filler business also contributed to revenue growth as sales expanded, particularly in key countries. Despite intensifying competition in the domestic toxin market, the company maintained revenue growth through a diversified lineup of toxin products centered on “CoreTox.”

In particular, NewViju, a domestically developed fat-reduction injection and Korea’s 40th new drug, emerged as a new growth driver. Since its launch, it has established itself in the market faster than expected, driven by strong interest from medical professionals and consumers, thereby contributing to revenue growth.

However, sales in the domestic filler market declined slightly compared to the same period last year due to intensifying competition and changes in the market environment. This decline was offset by the expansion of the beauty and healthcare business—including the derma-cosmetic “Nuraderm” and the body fat-reducing probiotic “Lactiplan”—as well as the growth of the aesthetic portfolio.

Medy-Tox Inc. plans to continue strengthening its business competitiveness in the second half of the year by expanding the market for ‘Newbiju,’ enhancing academic programs for medical professionals, and targeting global markets.

Medy-Tox Inc. officials stated, “Our flagship products both domestically and internationally are maintaining stable growth, and ‘NewViju’ is establishing itself in the domestic market faster than expected,” adding, “We will do our utmost to sustain this growth by fostering ‘NewViju’ as a new growth engine while continuing to strengthen the global competitiveness of our existing toxin and filler businesses.”
