[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] Mirae Asset Venture Investment Co., Ltd(100790)has secured a series of investment projects from major policy institutions this year, raising a total of 469 billion won in new funds as of August.

In addition to establishing a 107 billion won project fund—the first private-sector matching direct investment under the National Growth Fund—to invest in AI semiconductor design firm Rebellion, seven other funds backed by major policy institutions such as Korea Growth Finance, Korea Venture Investment (the Master Fund), and the Korea Asset Management Corporation have been formed.

Furthermore, the company is set to establish a 300 billion won National Growth Fund and a 160 billion won National Pension Fund in the second half of this year. Including the funds scheduled for formation in the second half, new funds totaling 929 billion won will be established this year alone, and the company’s total assets under management (AUM) for the year, including these funds, is projected to exceed 2.4 trillion won. This scale of new fund formation is overwhelmingly larger than that of competing venture capital firms and represents the largest annual fund formation in Mirae Asset Venture Investment Co., Ltd.’s history, amounting to an increase of approximately 60% compared to its AUM at the end of 2025.

It is particularly significant that the firm has demonstrated its competitiveness by being selected for all investment programs run by major investors in the venture capital industry—including the Korea Development Bank (National Growth Fund), the National Pension Service, Korea Venture Investment, and Korea Growth Finance. Industry analysts attribute Mirae Asset Venture Investment Co., Ltd.’s consecutive selections to its fundraising capabilities as a major financial group, its systematic post-investment management system, and its unparalleled investment expertise. Regarding its investment capabilities, the firm is recognized for achieving significant investment returns by proactively investing in promising growth industries and related companies based on its exceptional analytical skills in identifying industry trends.

Mirae Asset Venture Investment Co., Ltd is building a portfolio expected to yield significant returns in the future by investing in domestic and international AI value chain and deep tech companies. Its key domestic and international portfolio companies include “Rebellion” and “Moloco,” both of which are expected to go public next year. In addition, the firm has invested in promising domestic companies such as “Upstage,” “Scatter Lab,” “Exina,” “HyperExcel,” and “RealWorld.” Overseas, the firm maintains a strong portfolio that includes “Cohere,” a company specializing in business-focused AI models; “Moonshot AI,” a Chinese AI firm that has recently garnered attention for its Kimi series; “Genspark,” an all-in-one AI workspace; and “Agibot,” a Chinese humanoid robotics company.

Meanwhile, Mirae Asset Venture Investment Co., Ltd announced strong financial results for the first half of 2026 in its semi-annual report released on the 12th, reporting consolidated operating revenue of 139.8 billion won and operating profit of 37.4 billion won. These figures have already surpassed the total operating profit for the previous full year (35.1 billion won), driven by the value growth of its portfolio companies and dividend income from funds resulting from its high GP stake. With AUM growing rapidly this year, leading to an increase in management and performance fees, the company is expected to continue this upward trend in performance.
