Chairman Koo Kwang-mo met with NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang in the U.S. two months after Huang’s visit to South Korea last June, marking a move to expand their comprehensive collaboration. LG is expanding its partnership with NVIDIA beyond robotics to include AI factories and mobility, aiming to secure a leading position in “physical AI” across future industries. In the first quarter of next year, the company will also unveil a bipedal humanoid robot jointly developed with NVIDIA.
By combining NVIDIA’s AI technology with LG Corp.’s hardware and manufacturing capabilities, LG Corp. aims to expand its future business portfolio and secure a leading position in the physical AI market. (Photo: LG Corp.) ◇ Koo Kwang-mo and Jensen Huang Meet at NVIDIA Headquarters in the U.S. On the 13th (local time), Chairman Koo met with CEO Huang at NVIDIA’s headquarters in Santa Clara, California, and signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for strategic business cooperation. The meeting was attended by CEOs of major affiliates of LG Corp. and NVIDIA executives.
This MOU is the result of concrete follow-up discussions following a meeting between the top executives of both companies held last June at the LG Corp. Twin Towers in Yeouido, Seoul. The two companies agreed to go beyond technology exchange and solution provision to identify collaborative projects and pursue commercialization across a wide range of future industries, including robotics, AI factories, and mobility. Since April, LG Corp. has been strengthening its collaboration with NVIDIA, laying the groundwork to define specific collaboration projects and identify strategic initiatives.
Chairman Koo stated, “As our collaboration gains momentum, the areas where we will work together—such as AI factories, physical AI, and mobility—have become clear,” adding, “We will accelerate the adoption of AI by establishing industry-leading reference projects.”
CEO Huang remarked, “The most significant opportunity in Physical AI is enabling all machines to understand and reason about the real world and interact safely with people,” adding, “This will transform everyday life in homes, factories, and on roads.” He continued, “Building on our years-long collaboration, LG Corp. and NVIDIA are combining LG Corp.’s leadership in product engineering and manufacturing with NVIDIA’s technology to usher in a new era.”

◇ Bipedal Humanoid Robot to Be Unveiled in Q1 Next Year The two companies plan to unveil a bipedal humanoid robot based on NVIDIA Isaac GR00T in the first quarter of next year. LG Corp. is the first South Korean company to jointly develop a bipedal humanoid robot with NVIDIA.
The robot will be equipped with the NVIDIA Jetson Thor, which handles on-board computing, inference, and control. It will also incorporate Isaac GR00T, an open-source humanoid foundation model, and “Halos for Robotics,” a safety system designed for robotics.
The project also brings together technologies from LG Corp.’s major affiliates. The strategy is to secure competitiveness in physical AI based on the “One LG” framework by combining LGELECTRONICS’ actuators, LG Innotek’s sensors, and LG Energy Solution’s battery technology.

The wheeled humanoid robot “LG Cloid” will be deployed on the washing machine production line at the Tennessee plant in the U.S. within the year to begin a proof of concept (PoC). LGELECTRONICS plans to collect on-site data to enhance the robot’s performance and usability, and eventually expand its application to global production facilities as well as residential and commercial spaces.
The company is also moving forward with the establishment of a Physical AI Data Factory using LG Corp.’s robot platform, “PhysicalWorks.” By repeatedly performing processes—from the collection and generation of robot data to training and verification—in real-world settings, the company aims to advance its Robot Foundation Model (RFM).
The two companies plan to operate a joint task force (TF) to translate their collaboration—from research and development (R&D) to field validation and commercialization—into concrete results.
◇ Collaboration on AI Factories and Autonomous Mobility In the AI factory (AI data center) sector, the companies will pool the capabilities of LG Corp. affiliates based on NVIDIA’s standard design platform, DSX. They will leverage LGELECTRONICS’ cooling technology, LG Energy Solution’s batteries, the design and operational capabilities of LG CNS and LG Uplus, and LS’s power solutions.
In the first half of next year, the company will establish an AI factory reference site based on NVIDIA’s next-generation AI accelerator, “Vera Rubin.” Subsequently, in the first half of 2028, it plans to build an 80 MW (megawatt) AI factory in Cheonan, South Chungcheong Province. This AI factory will be used to advance physical AI and robot foundation models, among other applications.
Through this initiative, LG Corp. aims to secure integrated capabilities covering the entire AI factory lifecycle—from design to construction and operation—and plans to expand its business by offering packaged AI factory solutions to global big tech companies in the future.
