[Edaily Reporter LEE SU-BIN ] KG Chemical announced on the 14th that its second-quarter consolidated revenue and operating profit both saw significant year-over-year growth, driven by the growth of its major subsidiaries and the robust performance of its core businesses.

Based on KG Chemical’s second-quarter consolidated financial statements, revenue totaled 2.5812 trillion won, an 18.3% increase from the same period last year (2.1812 trillion won). This figure also represents a 7.9% increase compared to the previous quarter (2.3934 trillion won), indicating continued growth.
Second-quarter operating profit reached 90.9 billion won, a 15.3% increase from the same period last year (78.9 billion won) and a sharp 40.8% surge compared to the previous quarter (64.6 billion won). Consequently, the operating profit margin also rose by 0.8 percentage points, from 2.7% in the previous quarter to 3.5% in the second quarter.

Net income reached 135 billion won, a 132.0% increase compared to the same period last year (58.2 billion won). This is interpreted as a result of both the improving earnings trend and favorable factors in the non-operating segment, such as valuation gains from the rising value of held investment stocks.

Major affiliates also demonstrated stable growth trends in their respective business sectors.
KG DONGBUSTEEL recorded second-quarter revenue of 896.4 billion won and operating profit of 43.1 billion won, representing year-over-year increases of 11.3% and 16.9%, respectively. Improved domestic sales conditions, driven by the imposition of provisional tariffs on Chinese-made galvanized and color-coated steel sheets and the effect of product price increases, had a positive impact.
KG Mobility recorded second-quarter revenue of 1.1823 trillion won, a 14.1% increase year-over-year, driven by expanded sales of the new Musso and eco-friendly vehicles, as well as increased global exports centered on the European and Middle Eastern markets.
KGINICIS CO.,LTD. achieved revenue of 371.8 billion won and operating profit of 28.6 billion won, up 15.0% and 15.1%, respectively, compared to the same period last year, driven by steady growth in its core PG business, the successful transition of its rental business to a B2B model, and balanced growth across its consolidated subsidiaries in sectors such as F&F and education.
KG Chemical’s core business segments also contributed to the strong performance. In the fertilizer business, performance growth was driven by expanded domestic sales as the peak season began in earnest and increased exports to Southeast Asian countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam; the construction materials business also maintained stable performance driven by demand in overseas markets.
A KG Chemical official emphasized, “In the second quarter, both consolidated revenue and operating profit increased significantly as robust growth in our core businesses aligned with the expansion of major affiliates,” adding, “We will continue to strengthen our business competitiveness and maintain active communication with the market, shareholders, and investors.”
