[Edaily Reporter Cho Yong Seok ] Noh Tae-moon, President and Head of SamsungElectronics’ Device Experience (DX) Division, received 7.445 billion won in compensation for the first half of this year. Jeon Young-hyun, Vice Chairman and CEO of SamsungElectronics’ Semiconductor (DS) Division, received 2.393 billion won in compensation.

According to the semi-annual report disclosed by SamsungElectronics on the 14th, President Noh received a salary of 892 million won and a bonus of 328 million won. Stock-based compensation of 6.172 billion won and other earned income of 53 million won were also included in his total compensation.

The stock-based compensation consisted of the 2024 Performance Incentive (OPI), which was deferred and paid out in January of this year in the form of company stock. SamsungElectronics calculated the compensation amount by multiplying 40,579 shares of company stock by the closing price on the day of the stock transfer, which was 152,100 won.

The 22,678 shares of company stock paid out last July as part of the Long-Term Incentive (LTI) were not included in this total compensation. Those shares were distributed after the half-year closing date of June 30.

Vice Chairman Jeon Young-hyun received a salary of 978 million won and a bonus of 559 million won. Adding stock-based compensation of 781 million won and other earned income of 75 million won, he received a total of 2.393 billion won. The 10,469 shares of company stock that Vice Chairman Jeon received as part of the LTI last July were also not included in his compensation for the first half of this year.

SamsungElectronics Chairman Jay Y. Lee has not received a salary from SamsungElectronics since 2017.

The executive who received the highest compensation at SamsungElectronics was Lee Won-jin, President and Head of the Visual Display (VD) Business Division. President Lee received a salary of 1.744 billion won and a bonus of 2.873 billion won. Including stock-based compensation of 2.845 billion won and other employment income of 17 million won, he received a total of 7.479 billion won.

Next was Mauro Porcini, President and Chief Design Officer (CDO), who received 4.526 billion won. Jung Jae-wook, an advisor, received 3.879 billion won. Park Hong-geun, President of the Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), received 2.43 billion won.

The average salary per SamsungElectronics employee was 63 million won. As of the end of June this year, the company had a total of 129,200 employees. There were 94,485 Namsung employees and 34,715 female employees.
