According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 19th, as of the 18th, “The Martian” drew 228,306 viewers, nearly tripling the audience of the second-place film, “Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” (78,110 viewers).
Released on the 5th, “The Odyssey” has maintained its box office dominance by topping the charts for 14 consecutive days since its release. Its cumulative attendance stands at 5,391,723. Even in its third week of release, the film is drawing more than 200,000 viewers per day on weekdays, solidifying its position as one of this year’s leading box office hits.
“Spider-Man 4” took second place at the box office with a cumulative audience of 7,619,238. Third place went to the animated film *Detective Conan: The Angel of the Highway*, which drew 14,573 viewers. Following that, the comedy-action film *Okay Madam 2*, starring Uhm Jung-hwa, took fourth place with 11,460 viewers.
“Odyssey” continues to dominate the real-time ticket sales rankings as well. As of 8:13 a.m. on the 19th, “Odyssey” had 545,076 advance ticket sales, accounting for 71.5% of the total.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” took second place in advance ticket sales, while “Detective Conan: The Fallen Angel on the Highway” came in third. Following these, “Gyeongju Journey,” starring actors Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam, and Lee Yeon, ranked fourth in advance ticket sales. Among Korean films, “Gyeongju Journey” currently holds the top spot.
