They also listened to docent-led explanations of the “Thinking Robots and Questioning Humans” exhibition at the Seoul Robot and AI Science Museum and experienced the “PicaBot Art Museum,” where they used robotic arms to create their own unique drawings. Through the “Crime Prevention Education Using AI” session conducted by the Seoul Dobong Police Station, they also learned digital safety guidelines for daily life.
KTCorporation is working in partnership with government agencies and local governments to expand AI education opportunities for children nationwide. Through this camp, KTCorporation collaborated with national and public science museums to enhance the credibility of AI education and unveiled a public-private partnership model for AI education that brings together the private sector, public institutions, and local communities.
Since 2023, KTCorporation has been working with education offices and local governments nationwide to expand AI and digital ethics education for elementary and middle school students. As of last year, a cumulative total of approximately 170,000 students had participated in the program. The company also operates “AI Station,” a mobile AI experience center designed to bridge the AI gap in remote and mountainous areas, as well as outreach programs utilizing the AICE AI certification exam.
Building on this collaboration with the Seoul Metropolitan Government, KTCorporation plans to expand its public-private partnership AI education model to include national and public science museums, local governments, and public institutions.
Lee Jeong-woo, KTCorporation’s Executive Vice President in charge of ESG Initiatives, stated, “In the AI era, a mindset that utilizes technology responsibly is just as important as the ability to handle it,” adding, “I hope this camp will serve as an opportunity for children to learn about both AI technology and ethics and grow into future leaders.”
Jeon Jae-myeong, Acting Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Government’s Economic Affairs Bureau, remarked, “The AI Future Camp is a collaborative project that combines Seoul’s public infrastructure, KTCorporation’s cutting-edge technology, and the police’s expertise in crime prevention.” He added, “We plan to expand our cooperation with the private sector to provide citizens, including youth, with opportunities to quickly access cutting-edge technology and use it safely.”
