[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] FADU INC.(440110), a company specializing in data center semiconductors, is accelerating its push into the market for storage solutions tailored to artificial intelligence (AI) data centers. Led by its next-generation Gen6 and Gen7 SSD controllers, the company aims to meet the performance, efficiency, and security demands of AI data centers and is fully implementing its “FADU INC. 2.0” vision to expand from its existing SSD controller-focused business into a full-fledged data center solutions provider.

FADU INC. announced on the 24th that it participated in the “2026 OCP Korea Tech Day” held at COEX in Seoul on the 21st, where it unveiled the technological evolution of its SSDs and storage controllers optimized for AI data centers.

Now in its eighth year, OCP Korea Tech Day is an annual event organized by the Open Compute Project (OCP) Foundation and the OCP Korea community since 2019. This year’s event featured participation from hyperscalers, global semiconductor companies, infrastructure providers, and startups, with approximately 1,500 attendees.

OCP is a global open hardware community dedicated to advancing core data center infrastructure technologies—including servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling—through an open approach.

At this event, Dr. Kim Seung-min of FADU INC. delivered a keynote speech titled “Flash Memory in AI Data Centers: The New Roles of SSDs and Controllers.”

Dr. Kim noted that as the volume of data to be processed in AI data centers surges, not only storage capacity but also data processing costs are emerging as key challenges.

He explained that as AI workloads become more complex, SSDs are no longer limited to a single role but are being segmented based on memory, performance, and capacity. Accordingly, he emphasized that next-generation SSD controllers must meet technical requirements that differ from those of previous generations.

Dr. Kim identified the following as key challenges for next-generation controllers: ▲ processing performance for small input/output (I/O) units ▲ consistent latency ▲ GPU-driven I/O ▲ line-rate-level security.

He noted that since GPUs perform large-scale computations in AI data centers, storage systems also require higher levels of performance, stability, and security than those in conventional general-purpose data centers.

FADU INC. set up a large exhibition booth at the event to showcase its key products and technologies, including its next-generation Gen6 solutions. Along with a Gen6 SSD technology demo, the company also unveiled a product and technology portfolio tailored specifically for AI data centers.

FADU INC. plans to address the demand for AI data centers through its next-generation Gen6 controller and future Gen7 development. This is an extension of the “FADU INC. 2.0” vision recently unveiled at the Flash Memory Summit (FMS) 2026.

The company intends to move beyond its previous strategy of focusing solely on the SSD controller business and expand its data center solutions portfolio to meet surging AI demand. It also plans to drive innovation across the entire organization, in addition to research and development (R&D).
