[Edaily Reporter Kim Hyun-ah ] SKTelecom(017670)is partnering with Seoul National University to cultivate talent that will lead the future artificial intelligence (AI) industry. SKTelecom CEO Jeong Jae-heon will personally serve as the first lecturer to share insights on the changes and opportunities of the AI era.

SKTelecom announced on the 24th that it will launch the “SKTelecom-Seoul National University Joint AI Program” for graduate students in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Seoul National University in the second semester of 2026, offering a 15-week course.△

Based on SKTelecom’s full-stack AI capabilities, this program is structured around three areas: △AI apps and services, △AI modeling, and △AI infrastructure. The goal is to share SKTelecom’s AI research achievements and real-world commercialization cases with students.

The first lecture will be delivered by SKTelecom CEO Jeong Jae-heon on the 1st of next month. Under the theme “Choices and Opportunities in the AI Era,” CEO Jeong plans to explain to approximately 300 Seoul National University graduate and undergraduate students how AI technology is transforming industry and society, as well as SKTelecom’s vision for the future of AI.

Following this, Yoo Kyung-sang, Head of SKTelecom’s AI CIC, Kim Tae-yoon, Head of Foundation Models, and other executives, team leaders, and Ph.D.-level researchers from the AI development organization will deliver a series of lectures. They will directly share the AI technology and business experience they have accumulated in the field with the students.

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the AI industry-academia collaboration lectures between SKTelecom and Seoul National University. Over the years, the program has received high ratings from Seoul National University graduate students and has established itself as an educational curriculum that bridges theory with real-world industry practice.

SKTelecom has been actively fostering AI talent by maintaining industry-academia partnerships with major Korean universities, including Seoul National University, and by operating hands-on AI research programs and courses for undergraduate and graduate students.

Jeong Jae-heon, CEO of SKTelecom, stated, “It is deeply meaningful that the industry-academia partnership we have built with Seoul National University over many years is being renewed through this course,” adding, “We will continue to collaborate with academia so that today’s students can lead tomorrow’s AI industry.”
