[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] CATIS INC.(140430)has partnered with C-True Screening, an Israeli company specializing in AI security screening, to target the domestic AI security screening market in the airport, customs, and logistics sectors.
CATIS INC. announced on the 24th that it has signed a partnership agreement with C-True Screening for the domestic sales and technical support of AI-based automated threat detection solutions.
Founded in Tel Aviv, Israel, in 2018, C-True is a company that develops AI-based security screening technology. According to the company, its AI solution was the first in the world to receive certification from the U.S. Transportation Security Administration (TSA) and the European Conference of Civil Aviation (ECAC).
C-True’s system is currently in operation at more than 100 security checkpoints across 10 countries, including international airports in South Korea. In 2024, the system blocked approximately 3 million prohibited items and has been deployed at locations such as Israeli train stations and the Barclays Center in the United States. The company also explained that the system was utilized for security operations during the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The C-True solution automates image interpretation by integrating with existing computed tomography (CT) and X-ray screening equipment without requiring their replacement. AI performs an initial review of the screening images, enabling security personnel to focus on high-risk items.
CATIS INC. plans to supply the C-True technology to domestic airports, customs offices, and logistics facilities. The company intends to expand the scope of detection beyond counter-terrorism threats—such as firearms and explosives—to include drugs and undeclared foreign currency.
A CATIS INC. official stated, “While security screening began with the detection of hazardous items, on-site demands are expanding to areas that incur significant social costs, such as drugs and foreign currency.”
Building on the experience gained from supplying screening equipment to domestic airports and integrating systems, CATIS INC. plans to pursue domestic certification and conduct proof-of-concept (PoC) testing.
This collaboration also aligns with the company’s strategy for an AI-based next-generation security platform. The company plans to expand its business scope beyond detection centered on individual screening devices to a structure that integrates signals and data collected from different detection technologies to assess risk.
A CATIS INC. official said, “The automation of screening is shifting from a matter of individual device performance to a matter of how to integrate various pieces of information to make judgments,” adding, “We will expand our detection technology portfolio based on the C-True solution and extend our business into the areas of integrated control and data analysis in the future.”
