[Edaily Kim Min-jung Reporter] Amid a commotion caused by Ms. A, the ex-girlfriend of actor Hong Min-ki, who visited his home, Ms. A’s side has come forward to refute the claims, stating that some of the details are inaccurate.

On the 25th, a post written by someone identifying himself as Ms. A’s older brother was uploaded to her social media account.

He claimed, “My sister is currently in poor condition, so I am writing this on her behalf. In the early hours of Sunday, the 23rd, my sister was found to have taken an overdose of medication due to the accumulated sense of injustice she had been feeling and the shock of a situation that was difficult for an ordinary person to bear, and she was immediately transported to the emergency room.”

He continued, “The claims made by some media outlets that she ‘caused a disturbance and gave a statement at the police station’ are not true.”

He added, “After being transported to the emergency room, my younger brother remained in the intensive care unit in an unconscious state until the early morning of the 25th. As of the 25th, he has regained consciousness and recovered enough to communicate, but he still requires treatment and rest due to the psychological trauma. I ask that you refrain from posting speculative comments.”

Earlier on the 24th, Hong Min-ki’s agency, Fable Company, confirmed reports that Ms. A had visited Hong Min-ki’s home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, on the 23rd and caused a disturbance, stating, “That is correct.”

At the time, Ms. A was reportedly crying and shouting near Hong Min-ki’s residence, prompting residents to call the police. It is understood that both parties subsequently provided statements at the local police station. However, Ms. A’s side denied these reports, stating that she had been transported to the emergency room and was in the intensive care unit at the time.

Ms. A has claimed since the 19th that she was a victim of dating violence by Hong Min-ki and was pressured to have an abortion. In response, Hong Min-ki’s side has issued two statements completely denying the allegations.

Both sides have stated that, rather than making further allegations via social media or other channels, they intend to pursue legal action. Hong Min-ki’s side announced that they will take civil and criminal legal action based on the evidence they have gathered, and Ms. A has also indicated her intention to file a criminal complaint.

Following the allegations of dating violence and coercion to have an abortion, the two sides’ accounts of the incident at Hong Min-ki’s home also differ, and the facts of the matter are expected to be determined through future investigations and legal proceedings.
