[Edaily Reporter Kwon Oh Seok ] #Xcell Therapeutics Inc.’s stock price is hitting the intraday upper price limit. According to MP Doctor on the 26th, as of 9:29 a.m., Xcell Therapeutics Inc. is trading at the daily price limit of 1,482 won, up 30.00% from the previous trading day.
The company announced the previous day that it had signed the agreement at its headquarters in Gangnam-gu, Seoul. According to the company, the recombinant collagen market is undergoing a structural shift, centered on China. In China, recombinant collagen’s market share exceeded 50% of the total collagen market in 2023, and starting in 2025, it surpassed hyaluronic acid (HA) to become the top ingredient in the skincare market.
Xiangya Bio is advancing the research, development, and commercialization of cutting-edge biomaterials, having secured a foundation for global market entry by completing INCI registration under the name “Recombinant Type III Humanized Collagen.” The company explained that Martin John Evans, a Nobel laureate and Xiangya’s CSO, is participating in this research and development.
The two companies established a partnership in March 2026, beginning with a $350,000 supply contract for Excel’s EXO culture medium—the first instance of Excel entering into a direct supply agreement with a Chinese end-user. This time, Excel will exclusively supply Shangya’s “recombinant human collagen” in the domestic market, expanding the range of collaborative products from culture media to advanced biomaterials and establishing a Korea-China biomaterial cross-selling system to supply both companies’ core products to each other’s markets.
