What remains is the fact that these three individuals, who learned music in different eras, have blended their unique sensibilities to create something entirely new.

Released at 6 p.m. on the 26th, “STEREO SERVICE: JEONPASA” features a total of five tracks: “Tone,” “Supreme,” “a e s t h e t i c,” “Acid,” and “Back.” While drawing on the conventions of various genres—such as jazz, hip-hop, breakbeat, and indie pop—the music doesn’t settle into any one of them. What runs through all five tracks is less a specific genre and more the curiosity of the three members.
It’s unique right from the start. Hitchhiker sampled the sounds of Kim Da-bin tapping on an empty jar and a guitar case in the studio, turned them into a beat, and Jin Choi layered her vocals on top. The resulting first track, “Tone,” with a running time of just over a minute, succinctly encapsulates the album’s character. They opted for a combination of rough textures and unfamiliar sounds rather than the polished conventions of pop. Jin Choi’s line, “Do I upset you with my tone or what,” sounds like a preview of the music to come.
The three members also have distinct backgrounds. Hitchhiker has worked as a K-pop composer and EDM producer after stints with Jinwoo and Rollercoaster, while Kim Da-bin established her own unique rhythm within the band scene through groups like Kadheho and Choo Da-hye’s Chajis. The youngest member, Jin Choi, is already carving out her own musical world, having released several EPs and singles at the age of 17. It’s also interesting to note that Hitchhiker and Jin Choi are mother and daughter.
In “Supreme,” the strengths of all three members become even more apparent. Tightly woven rhythms contrast with minimalist arrangements, and Jin Choi’s vocals—shifting between low registers and sharp high notes—heighten the song’s tension. Rather than repeating a familiar chorus to make it stick, the track finds its charm in the moments when the sound takes an unexpected turn.
In “Aesthetic,” the past and present collide more explicitly. While the sound embodies the atmosphere of 2000s underground hip-hop, Jin Choi’s subject is today’s culture, where even images and tastes are easily replicated. The song centers on an attitude of moving in a different direction rather than following tastes dictated by others. It’s intriguing how the song discusses the social climate of 2026 using musical language from over 20 years ago.
In “Acid,” the mood shifts again. It begins relatively calmly but unsettles the listener by constantly altering the textures of the electronic sounds and vocals. Much like the push-and-pull dynamics in the lyrics, the music itself doesn’t easily lean in one direction.
The final track, “Back,” slows down the pace compared to the previous four songs. Over repetitive synths and beats, Jin Choi closes the album with the line, “This is human made.” At a time when generative artificial intelligence (AI) is rapidly entering the realm of creativity, this single phrase prompts a fresh perspective on the album as a whole.

In fact, the production process of “Stereo Service: Radio Shop” features an unusually high degree of human involvement. Sounds were created by physically striking objects, which were then cut and pasted to form rhythms, with vocals layered on top. While digital equipment was actively utilized, the original raw materials were derived from human movement and chance. This is why the closing phrase “human made” is more than just rhetoric.
Above all, the appeal of this album does not lie in distinguishing between the music of someone born in 1971, 1991, and 2008. Rather, it lies in the moments when the boundaries of who created which parts become blurred. It also steps outside the familiar framework of generational collaboration, where a veteran guides a young musician or the new generation reinterprets old music. Rather than dividing roles based on age, the three members are more like equals, throwing and catching sounds back and forth. Each chose to step slightly outside their comfort zones to create a single, unfamiliar piece of music.
For Jin Choi, this is yet another experiment, and for Hitchhiker and Kim Da-bin, it’s a project that cannot be easily explained by their existing backgrounds alone. That’s why *Stereo Service: Radio Station* is an album where one’s ears are drawn more to the unexpected elements that emerged during the creative process than to a perfectly polished final product.
We live in an era where artificial intelligence can generate plausible music in the blink of an eye. In such times, these three chose to bang on drums and search for sounds in guitar cases. And at the end, they left a short sentence:
“This Is Human-Made.”
