On the 27th, Hong Min-ki’s agency, Fable Company, announced, “In connection with Ms. A’s recent series of actions, we filed complaints with investigative authorities on August 21 and August 24, accusing her of forgery of private documents, attempted extortion, violation of the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection, etc. (defamation), and violation of the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes.”
They continued, “Our agency and the actor plan to cooperate fully with the upcoming investigative procedures, and we believe that the factual truth of this case and legal responsibility will be clearly established through the investigation.” They added, “Until the truth is revealed through the investigative authorities’ objective inquiry and decision, we ask that you refrain from making hasty judgments based on unverified claims or indiscriminately amplifying and reproducing content that differs from the facts.”
Regarding the incident on the 23rd, in which Mr. A visited Hong Min-ki’s residence and caused a disturbance, prompting a police response, the agency stated, “Around 2:00 a.m. on August 23, Mr. A once again visited the actor’s home in Itaewon, where he rang the doorbell and engaged in behavior such as crying loudly and shouting profanities. The police were dispatched that day, and after the police requested a joint response from emergency services (119), Ms. A was ultimately transported by ambulance,” the agency stated, adding, “We would also like to inform you that, in accordance with the Act on the Punishment of Stalking Crimes, the police issued a restraining order against Ms. A that day, prohibiting her from approaching within 100 meters of the actor and from contacting him via telecommunications.”
It was previously reported that on the 23rd, Mr. A went to Hong Min-ki’s home in Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and caused a disturbance; the situation was resolved after police arrived at the scene. Following this, a post appeared on Mr. A’s social media account from someone identifying themselves as his older brother, stating, “My sister is currently in poor condition, so I am writing this on her behalf. In the early hours of Sunday, the 23rd, my sister was found to have taken an overdose of medication due to the sense of injustice she had been feeling and the shock of a situation that is difficult for an ordinary person to bear, and she was immediately transported to the emergency room,” “After being transported to the emergency room, my sister remained in the intensive care unit in an unconscious state until the early morning of the 25th. Recently, Ms. A, Hong Min-ki’s ex-girlfriend, began making allegations on social media, claiming she had been physically assaulted by Hong Min-ki during a date. Hong Min-ki’s agency has categorically denied these claims.
