(Photo courtesy of PAKERS CO., Ltd.) PAKERS CO., Ltd. has expanded its business scope into three major growth pillars based on the technology and capabilities of its existing printer and LED businesses. The printer business is shifting from simple assembly to a solutions-based model and plans to enter high-value-added markets such as industrial printers and specialty building materials. The LED business aims to diversify into application areas such as beauty devices and optoelectronic semiconductors, leveraging its accumulated light source technology, with a strategy to cultivate the K-Beauty and optoelectronics platforms as future growth engines. The K-Beauty platform business will target the global market centered on its subsidiary, “Alok.” Having built competitiveness in LED-based medical devices and home-use DEVICES over the past eight years, Alok unveiled “Skinmax”—a product that combines beauty devices and cosmetics—last June. Skinmax is an AI (artificial intelligence) beauty device that combines device technology with cosmetics; it automatically selects and activates the optimal care functions—such as electroporation (EP), microcurrent, and LED—tailored to each specific cosmetic product. Going forward, the company plans to establish a recurring revenue model by linking sales to consumable products like serums and to expand its domestic and international distribution channels. The AUK platform business will be carried out through “Elphoton,” a venture company specializing in the design and manufacturing of optoelectronic semiconductors, which was established in 2023. Once the acquisition of a 58.5% stake is completed in early September, Elphoton will become a subsidiary of PAKERS CO., Ltd. The company is currently developing solutions centered on three core technologies—UVC-LED, micro-LED, and optical sensors—and PAKERS CO., Ltd. intends to expand its value chain from chips to finished products by combining its own LED business capabilities with Elphoton’s technological expertise. A PAKERS CO., Ltd. official stated, “We are expanding into high-growth potential sectors based on the capabilities we have accumulated through our existing business,” adding, “Along with entering the high-value-added market for printer solutions, we will strengthen our competitiveness in new growth areas such as K-Beauty and AUK to secure a foundation for sustainable growth.”
