'Odyssey' Dominates the Box Office Unchallenged… Cumulative Viewers Reach 7.8 Million

[Edaily Starin Reporter Choi Hee-jae ] The movie "The Odyssey" continues its box office dominance, remaining at the top of the charts even in its fourth week of release. With cumulative attendance set to surpass 8 million, all eyes are on whether it can maintain its upward momentum this weekend.

According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated computer network on the 28th, “The Odyssey” took the No. 1 spot at the box office on the 27th, drawing 150,920 viewers. Its cumulative attendance stands at 7,806,294, putting it on the verge of surpassing 8 million.
“Spider-Man: A Brand New Day” took second place, drawing 34,751 viewers. Its cumulative audience stands at 8,297,959.
Third place went to the Korean film “A Journey to Gyeongju,” starring Lee Jung-eun, Gong Hyo-jin, Park So-dam, and Lee Yeon. “A Journey to Gyeongju” drew 25,149 viewers that day, bringing its cumulative total to 67,430.
“The Last Day on Oak Street” took fourth place, while “Detective Conan: The Angel of the Highway” took fifth.
“Odyssey” continues to dominate the advance ticket sales rankings as well. As of 8:12 a.m. on the 28th, “Odyssey” had sold 507,095 tickets, accounting for 67.9% of advance sales. It maintains a significant lead over “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” (71,778 tickets), which ranks second in advance ticket sales. In third place is “A Trip to Gyeongju” (34,299 tickets).
With “Odyssey” maintaining its lead in both box office revenue and advance ticket sales even in its fourth week of release, attention is turning to its performance this weekend. In particular, with the film on the verge of surpassing 8 million viewers and no clear competitors in sight, all eyes are on how long it can sustain its box office momentum with the addition of this weekend’s audience.
