In tvN’s new Saturday-Sunday drama “Four Hands,” which premieres on the 29th, the story behind how the life of Choi Jeong-yo (played by Lee Jun-young)—once hailed as a piano prodigy—took a 180-degree turn will be revealed.
Choi Jeong-yo has been a prodigy among prodigies, possessing an extraordinary talent for the piano since childhood. Whenever he sat at the keyboard, he would become completely immersed in the music, effortlessly delivering performances imbued with his own unique style, captivating the attention of figures in the music industry. Building on this talent, he achieved the remarkable feat of winning the grand prize at a junior competition at a young age.
However, Choi Jeong-yo’s life—which once seemed destined for a bright future—has taken a completely different turn now that he has turned seventeen. Because his father is not only an alcoholic but also a compulsive gambler, Choi Jeong-yo has been forced to take on the role of the family’s breadwinner as a teenage head of household.
As Choi Jeong-yo’s situation shows no signs of improving—a fact that only deepens the sense of pity—newly released photos heighten the tension by capturing a life-or-death moment in which he is being chased by debt collectors.
Choi Jeong-yo’s face is clearly etched with bewilderment and fear when he discovers the debt collectors, who have tracked him down to his home in search of his father’s whereabouts. As he frantically flees, drenched by the rain, his desperation to shake off the debt collectors is palpable.
The scene of Choi Jeong-yo, alone and crouched in a corner of an alley after his breathless escape, adds to the heart-wrenching atmosphere. Unable to check into a motel because he is a minor, Choi Jeong-yo sits huddled under the eaves of a storefront, passing the time aimlessly—a sight that evokes even deeper sympathy.

“Four Hands” is a collaboration between Director Park Hyun-seok, who has demonstrated his sophisticated directing skills across diverse genres such as “Carelessly Fond,” “Secret Forest 2,” and “Hometown,” and writer Shin Yi-won, who delicately portrayed the psychology and group dynamics of human relationships in “The Green Mothers’ Club.”
