(Photo: BH) With Apple expected to unveil a foldable phone this month, expectations that BH—a supplier of flexible printed circuit boards (FPCBs)—will benefit from this development have come to the fore. Following strong sales of SamsungElectronics’ Galaxy Z Fold 8, the global foldable phone market is projected to enter a phase of full-scale growth as Apple joins the fray.
In a report released today, DaishinSecurities projected that global foldable phone shipments will reach 26.1 million units this year—a 28.4% increase from the previous year—and will rise by 35.5% to 35.37 million units in 2027. The firm predicted that SamsungElectronics will expand its lineup of foldable phone models from the current three to five next year, and that Apple’s foldable phones will also record annual sales of over 15 million units.
Expectations for business expansion into the robotics and humanoid sectors have also grown. BH is already generating revenue based on Boston Dynamics’ humanoid robot “Atlas,” and is expected to add new North American clients this month. With long-lead flexible PCBs being applied to robot joints and other components, related revenue is projected to take off in earnest after 2027.
Park Kang-ho, an analyst at DaishinSecurities, noted, “The company is expected to benefit from the expansion of the foldable phone market by Apple and SamsungElectronics,” adding, “With the anticipated addition of new North American clients in the robotics and humanoid sectors, the stock is likely to undergo another round of valuation reassessment.” He maintained a “Buy” rating and a target price of 41,000 won.
He further emphasized, “The price-to-earnings ratio (PER) for 2026 stands at around 5 times, which is a historic low,” adding, “Considering strong earnings, the undervalued valuation, and business diversification into robots and humanoids, we expect the stock price to rebound and rise in September.”
