Distributor Plus M Entertainment announced on the 1st, “‘Hope’ has been confirmed for a re-release from the 9th to the 15th at 38 CGV theaters equipped with 4DX screens.”
Interest is also growing as a special event titled “Uncle Haesul’s 4DX Re-release Special” will be held simultaneously, allowing viewers to book tickets at a discounted price of 13,000 won.
The 4DX version of *Hope* has long been a hot topic among moviegoers. From chase scenes set against vast natural backdrops to breathtaking car chases and intense gunfights, the film’s diverse action sequences are rendered with even greater dynamism.
In particular, the vibrations and various effects synchronized with the on-screen action perfectly convey the speed and tension of the unique action sequences, delivering a vivid sense of being right in the middle of Hopo Port. Thanks to audience support, “Hope” has confirmed another round of 4DX screenings and is set to offer viewers a unique cinematic experience unlike anything before.
“Hope” continues to prove its artistic merit and popularity by receiving consecutive invitations to leading international film festivals. Following invitations to the 79th Cannes Film Festival, the 25th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), the 51st Toronto International Film Festival, and the 74th San Sebastián International Film Festival, the film has now been officially invited to the Panorama section of the 31st Busan International Film Festival, taking place from October 6 to 15, where it is sure to captivate audiences. In addition, it has been invited to the Fantasy Filmfest, Germany’s largest genre film festival, among others.
“Hope” is the first feature film in 10 years from director Na Hong-jin—known for “The Chaser” and “The Yellow Sea”—since “The Wailing.” The story begins when “Beom-seok,” the head of the Hopo Port branch office located in the Demilitarized Zone (DMZ), hears reports from local youths about a tiger sighting. As the entire village goes on high alert, he is confronted with a reality that is hard to believe. The film stars Hwang Jung-min, Jo In-sung, Jung Ho-yeon, Taylor Russell, Cameron Britton, Alicia Vikander, and Michael Fassbender.
