[Edaily Reporter Yun Junghoon ]KTCorporation(030200)has partnered with #HyundaiMotor, MTR, and KidsNote to develop a “Safe Boarding and Alighting Solution for Children’s School Shuttles” that combines ultra-precise location data with AI and telecommunications technologies. The initiative aims to prevent incidents of children being left behind in school shuttles and accelerate the digital transformation (DX) of children’s school transportation management overall.

KTCorporation announced on the 2nd that it had signed a “Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Development of a Dedicated Safe Boarding and Alighting Solution for Children’s School Buses” with HyundaiMotor, MTR—a company specializing in specialized mobility vehicles—and KidsNote, a provider of a smart school communication platform.
Key officials attended the signing ceremony, including Noh Hyung-rae, Executive Vice President and Head of the Corporate Business Division at KTCorporation’s Enterprise Division; Yeom Jae-seop, Executive Vice President and Head of Domestic Sales at HyundaiMotor; Cheon Seong-jae, CEO of MTR; and Kang Ah-reum, Executive Vice President of KidsNote.
Through this agreement, the four companies will jointly develop a comprehensive safety solution that integrates vehicle data with school bus operation services. MTR will equip school buses—manufactured and self-certified by MTR based on HyundaiMotor’s “Staria EV”—with specialized safety services, and the companies plan to expand their collaboration into various mobility sectors in the future.
The companies will also combine their core competencies. KTCorporation will provide “RTX Fast,” a high-precision, lane-level location information technology developed in collaboration with Trimble, a global provider of location-based services, alongside its communication and cloud platforms. RTX Fast utilizes satellite signal correction technology to support precise positioning and is slated for expansion into various industries, including autonomous driving and port and yard operations.
HyundaiMotor will provide vehicle data, while MTR will handle the development, manufacturing, and sales of the “KIDI ON Staria EV School Bus,” which is equipped with safety features. KidsNote will serve as the customer touchpoint, connecting parents and vehicles through its existing parent app and notification services.
Going forward, the four companies plan to enhance the system’s capabilities by incorporating advanced ICT technologies such as AI, Ultra-Wideband (UWB), and BlueTooth Low Energy (BLE). Planned features include: △ detection of children left behind in the vehicle △ real-time location sharing △ automatic confirmation and notification of boarding and alighting △ in-vehicle safety monitoring △ automatic logging of trip logs.
At the same time, the goal is to evolve the service into an intelligent safety system that analyzes boarding, alighting, and travel data to detect emergency situations, thereby expanding it into a “mobile child care platform” that goes beyond a simple means of transportation. In the future, the companies plan to diversify the types of vehicles covered to include general private school buses, welfare transport vehicles, and vehicles providing mobility support for people with disabilities.
Executive Director Noh Hyung-rae stated, “This collaboration is a meaningful first step toward providing a new mobility experience that offers peace of mind to children and their guardians, going beyond simply selling vehicles.” He added, “KTCorporation will successfully implement the school bus service for children by leveraging its telecommunications and AX capabilities, along with superior precise positioning technology based on RTX Fast, and will continue to expand the use of precise positioning into various mobility and industrial sectors in the future.”
