[Edaily Reporter KIM JI-WAN ] INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD.(274400)is exporting the damage control training system it has been supplying to the South Korean Navy to an overseas market for the first time. In conjunction with the Philippine Navy’s acquisition of next-generation frigates, the company will establish training facilities to help crew members develop the ability to respond to emergency situations such as fires and flooding.

INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. announced on the 21st that it has signed a 2.1 billion won contract with HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES to build a Damage Control Training System (DCTS) for the Philippine Navy. This contract is linked to the Philippine Navy’s next-generation frigate construction project being led by HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES and marks the first joint project undertaken by the two companies.

The Damage Control Training System is a facility that simulates fires, structural damage, flooding, and contamination that may occur inside a ship. Crew members will undergo repeated training here on response procedures for various types of incidents, learning how to prevent the spread of damage and maintain the ship’s operational capabilities.

This facility consists of firefighting, watertight integrity, and chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) training systems, along with a training support system to back them up. The firefighting training system allows crew members to master procedures for extinguishing shipboard fires, while the watertight integrity training system provides training on responding to situations where water enters the ship through holes in piping, bulkheads, or decks. The CBRN training system is used to teach proper procedures for responding to contamination incidents and the correct use of protective gear. It also includes support functions for instructors to manage training operations, protective equipment, and training gear.

INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD. is responsible for everything from design and manufacturing to factory acceptance testing, on-site installation, system integration, and field acceptance testing. Following deployment, the company will also provide operator training and technical support. The facility will incorporate integrated control, safety monitoring, CCTV, and emergency response functions, and will be tailored to the operational conditions of the Philippine Navy.

The company has gained relevant experience by sequentially supplying damage control training systems to the Republic of Korea Navy’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Fleets. In addition to facility construction, it has also conducted testing and evaluation, periodic inspections, and preventive maintenance. The company plans to leverage the data and maintenance experience gained during actual operations in this project.

Earlier, in August, the company unveiled a strategy to expand its technology in the field of watertight training into an integrated system that also encompasses firefighting training, with the aim of targeting overseas navies and the maritime safety market. Building on this contract, the company plans to strengthen its collaboration with HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES and expand its business of providing training facilities and follow-up support alongside the export of naval vessels overseas.

Cho Jun-hee, CEO of INNOSIMULATION CO., LTD., stated, “This contract win is a testament to the recognition of our competitiveness in the overseas naval vessel market, based on the damage control training system technology and project execution capabilities we have accumulated through domestic naval projects.” He added, “We will work closely with HD HYUNDAI HEAVY INDUSTRIES to establish a safe and highly reliable training system optimized for the Philippine Navy’s operational environment.”

He further stated that the company intends to expand its business scope to include domestic and international surface ships, submarines, and comprehensive naval survival training facilities by strengthening its core technologies in firefighting, watertight integrity, and chemical, biological, and radiological (CBR) defense, as well as its system integration capabilities.
