[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] Eight finalists have been selected for the position of the next MBC president.

The Broadcasting Culture Promotion Foundation (BCPF) announced on the 2nd that it had conducted a document screening of 20 presidential candidates and selected eight candidates for interviews.
The eight candidates disclosed by the Foundation are: △Park Geon-sik, Head of MBC’s Planning Division; △Park Seong-ho, a director-level official in MBC’s Journalism Accountability Office; △Ahn Hyeong-jun, current MBC President; △Lee Geun-haeng, former Head of MBC’s Content Strategy Division; △Lee Dong-ae, former Head of MBC’s Planning Bureau; △Lee Seong-ju, Director of iMBC; △Lee Ho-in, President of Yeosu MBC; △ Jeon Dong-geon, former President of Ulsan MBC (listed in alphabetical order).
The Board of Directors of the MBC Selection Committee will conduct interviews with the eight candidates at its 12th regular board meeting on the 4th and recommend the top four to the National Committee for the Recommendation of MBC President Candidates. On the 12th, the National Committee will select two final candidates based on policy presentations and deliberative evaluations of the four nominees.
Subsequently, the Board of Directors will conduct final interviews with the two candidates on the 13th and appoint the president-designate. The new MBC president will be confirmed at the MBC shareholders’ meeting on the 14th.
