[Edaily Reporter Park Jung-Soo ] Korea Investment & Securities ( KOREA INVESTMENT HOLDINGS(071050) ), a subsidiary of Korea Investment & Securities, announced on the 4th that it is holding a customer appreciation event through the 30th to commemorate the 7th anniversary of its partnership with KakaoBank Corp.
This event offers 5,000 won in Naver Pay points to customers who open a Korea Investment & Securities BanKIS stock account for the first time through the KakaoBank Corp. app.
New customers can also receive the standard benefits provided upon opening a BanKIS account—two shares of domestic stock and a 20,000 won deposit bonus—in addition to the event reward. During the event period, customers who trade at least 1 million won worth of domestic stocks will receive an additional 20,000 won deposit bonus, and those who maintain a balance of at least 1 million won will receive an additional 30,000 won deposit bonus. Combined, new customers can receive benefits worth up to 75,000 won.
An asset growth event for existing customers is also being held. During the event period, customers who increase the assets in their Bankis account by 10 million won or more will receive a random amount selected from 700 won, 7,000 won, or 70,000 won.
Cash benefits of up to 4 million won are also provided based on the net increase in assets. Customers who invest 50 million won or more in products with a term of six months or longer—such as commercial paper, Integrated Management Accounts (IMA), and bonds—will receive an additional 0.05% of the investment amount, up to 500,000 won. If all event conditions are met, the maximum benefit per person is worth 4,645,000 won.
A total of 77 customers who participate in the new account opening and asset growth event will be selected via a random drawing to receive one share of Kakao stock.
Kwak Jin, Head of the eBiz Division at Korea Investment & Securities, stated, “Over the past seven years, we have introduced innovative financial services and proactively strengthened our digital platform based on our partnership with KakaoBank Corp., adding, “We will continue to provide differentiated financial products and services that tangibly help customers grow their assets through close collaboration between the two companies.”
Korea Investment & Securities has maintained this collaboration since 2019, when it became the first company in the financial investment industry to launch a stock account opening service with KakaoBank Corp. In 2023, the company introduced a promissory note service that allows customers to subscribe 24 hours a day.
As of September 4, the company is offering special promissory note products with pre-tax yields of 4.4% per annum for the 6-month term and 4.6% per annum for the 12-month term. KakaoBank Corp. is also offering special products such as a 31-day foreign currency repurchase agreement (RP) with an annual yield of 4.4% in U.S. dollars—linked to a foreign currency account at KakaoBank Corp.—and a 12-month U.S. Treasury bond with an annual yield of 5.2%.
