Strengthening the Foundation for Collaboration Among Management, Technology, Business Units, and Affiliates
[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] SOOP(067160)is establishing an integrated business hub in Pangyo, 20 years after the service’s launch. The plan is to gradually consolidate management, technology, and business organizations—which were previously scattered across multiple locations—along with the workspaces of affiliated companies, to strengthen collaboration and research and development (R&D) capabilities.

SOOP announced on the 4th that it has decided to purchase the land and building of GB2-C, located at 25 Pangyo-ro 256beon-gil, Bundang-gu, Seongnam-si, Gyeonggi-do.
This acquisition marks SOOP’s first move to establish a unified operational hub in approximately 20 years, since the company launched its live streaming service in 2005. As its services and business areas have expanded, the workspaces of key organizations and affiliates had been scattered across multiple locations; the goal is to bring them together to create a more cohesive work environment.
SOOP plans to use the new building as both its headquarters and R&D center. The workspaces for management, technology, and business organizations, as well as those of major subsidiaries, will be relocated in phases. The company aims to begin the relocation in the fourth quarter of this year and complete the reorganization of its operations by the first quarter of 2028.
Once the relocation of workspaces is complete, the physical distance between organizations is expected to decrease, leading to smoother decision-making and collaboration. The utilization of human and spatial resources, which were previously scattered across multiple locations, is also expected to improve.
One-time costs may arise during the acquisition and relocation of the new headquarters. However, SOOP anticipates that once the consolidation of its operations is complete, fixed operating costs—such as rent and maintenance fees previously incurred at multiple sites—will decrease, leading to improved cash flow in the medium to long term.
A SOOP official stated, “Securing this new headquarters is a mid- to long-term investment aimed at enhancing collaboration across departments and responding more agilely to the changing business environment,” adding, “We will ensure a smooth move-in and reorganization process to improve connectivity between departments and further strengthen our capabilities for technological innovation and business growth.”
