[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] The group BTS continues to enjoy long-term success on the UK and global charts with their fifth studio album, “ARIRANG.” Even six months after its release, the album has continued to climb the major charts, demonstrating consistent popularity. This marks a 9-spot rise from the previous week. With this, the album has remained on the chart for 24 consecutive weeks, once again setting a new record for the longest chart run among BTS albums. The album also rebounded across all sub-charts. On the “Official Physical Albums” chart, it climbed 10 spots to No. 41, and on the “Official Scottish Albums” chart, it rose 11 spots to No. 30. On the “Official Album Sales” chart, it jumped 11 spots from the previous week to No. 43. Notably, while 28 new albums entered the “Official Album Sales” chart this week, “Arirang” actually climbed in the rankings. It is particularly noteworthy that an album released six months ago continued its upward trend even amid a flood of new releases. This long-term success continued on Spotify as well. “Arirang” ranked No. 2 on the “Weekly Top Albums Global” chart for three consecutive weeks. Since entering the chart, it has remained in the Top 3 for 24 weeks without ever falling out of the top three. The popularity of individual tracks also continues. The title track “SWIM” climbed to No. 12, while the track “NORMAL” ranked No. 82, maintaining its position on the chart for seven consecutive weeks. Along with the album’s success, BTS is continuing its world tour. Following their September 1–2 shows, they will hold concerts at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles, USA, on September 5–6. In anticipation of BTS’s performances, Los Angeles has designated September 1–8 as “BTS Week.” City-wide events are also underway, including illuminating City Hall in red—the color symbolizing “Arirang.”
