[Edaily Starin YUN GI BACK Reporter] The music that brought the emotional impact of the 2016 film *Your Name.* to life is set to be reimagined with a new voice for the first time in 10 years. The film’s signature OST, “Sparkle,” is being remade by a Korean artist. “Sparkle” teaser. (Photo courtesy of SHgold Networks) “Sparkle” is the signature song from *Your Name.*, performed by the Japanese band RADWIMPS. With a composition that builds emotion gently before exploding in the latter half, it left a strong impression by intertwining with key scenes in the film. Even now, 10 years after the film’s release, it remains a song frequently discussed alongside the movie. What’s noteworthy about this remake is not simply a recreation of a classic song, but the fact that it is “Sparkle, reimagined with a Korean voice.” Produced as part of the “J-POP REMAKE” project—which reinterprets Japanese classics through the lens of Korean artists—it promises a different sensibility and interpretation from the original. The singer who will actually perform the song has not yet been revealed. Instead of the typical promotional approach of announcing the singer’s name first, the production team has chosen to drop clues one by one. The first clues to appear were a school uniform and a nameless name tag. Later, the identity of the remake was revealed when the song title “Sparkle” was unveiled alongside an image of a prism with light radiating in multiple directions. However, the artist’s name on the name tag remains blank. Ultimately, the key to this project lies in who will perform the familiar “Sparkle” and how differently they will make it sound. As the new singer’s vocal tone and interpretation are set to be added while maintaining the original song’s themes of youth, love, and destiny, all eyes are on whether a new version will be born. The singer’s identity and the release schedule for the track will be gradually revealed through content to be released at a later date.
