[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] #S2W Inc., a big data analytics and artificial intelligence (AI) company, is introducing an autonomous AI agent that independently selects and utilizes the data and analytical tools needed during criminal investigations.
S2W announced on the 8th that it has launched “DRI (Deep Research Investigator),” an autonomous Agent AI specialized for criminal investigations. DRI is scheduled to be integrated into “XAVIS CO., Ltd.,” a security AI platform designed for public and government agencies. DRI is a solution that analyzes cyber threats and provides information necessary for investigations by linking data collected by S2W from the dark web, deep web, Telegram, and hacking forums to real-time knowledge contexts.
In particular, when a user asks a question in natural language, the AI agent filters the necessary information and combines detection and analysis tools to produce results. It leverages the investigative support features provided by XAVIS CO., Ltd., such as data breach monitoring, threat actor profiling, virtual asset network analysis, and cross-analysis of data from different channels.
According to WAPS Co., Ltd., this enables a comprehensive analysis of anonymous account activity histories, financial transaction records, and attack techniques, as well as the automatic generation of intelligence reports based on relevant evidence. The solution also automatically selects the most appropriate investigative method—from among nine strategies, including dark web monitoring and ransomware tracking—based on the user’s query intent.
Measures have also been put in place to reduce the risk of hallucinations in generative AI. By applying Search-Augmented Generation (RAG), the system generates responses based on collected data and displays the source of the original text for each conclusion, allowing users to trace the evidence. The entire process—from the search to the derivation of conclusions—is also recorded. For high-risk determinations, the system limits the AI’s independent judgment by requiring a final confirmation step by the user.
S2W plans to introduce DRI at “Cyber Summit Korea (CSK 2026),” hosted by the National Intelligence Service and the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology, to be held at COEX in Seoul from the 16th to the 18th.
Meanwhile, S2W, established in 2018, focuses primarily on data analysis in the fields of national security and industry. The company provides “XAVIS CO., Ltd.” for public and government agencies, the security AI solution “QUAXAR” for enterprises and institutions, and the ontology-based decision-making operating system (OS) “SAIP,” among other products. In 2023, the company was selected as one of the “Top 100 Technology Leaders” by the World Economic Forum (WEF) and is participating as the Korean partner in INTERPOL’s “Gateway Initiative.” It also provides data to Microsoft’s “Security Copilot.”
Lee Jae-young, Head of the Security Division at S2W, “Through DRI, investigators can delegate tedious, routine tasks to agents and focus on high-level decision-making, such as setting the overall direction of an investigation based on the context of the case,” he said. “Going a step further, we plan to enhance scalability and versatility by integrating the AI agent technology accumulated during the DRI development process into our other product lines, such as cyber threat intelligence (CTI) solutions and industry-specific AI platforms.”
