[E-Daily Reporter Kim Ji-woo ] HITEJINRO(000080)will cease operations at its soju production plant in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, to streamline its production bases, and will consolidate production functions at its Jeonju plant.
HITEJINRO CI. (Photo courtesy of HITEJINRO) HITEJINRO announced on the 9th that it will suspend production at the Iksan plant starting on the 16th of next month. The production volume previously handled by the Iksan plant will be transferred to the Jeonju plant. Production equipment and personnel will also be gradually relocated to the Jeonju plant.
Last year, sales of products manufactured at the Iksan plant totaled 42.1 billion won. This represents 1.68% of HITEJINRO’s consolidated revenue of 2.4986 trillion won for last year.
HITEJINRO explained, “We made this decision to streamline production operations after comprehensively considering factors such as the aging of the plant and equipment, as well as operating conditions,” adding, “We do not expect this to have any impact on product production or supply.”
