[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Naver (NAVER(035420)) is expanding its coverage of major sporting events by live-streaming the “2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games.” The company plans to enhance the viewing experience for sports fans by combining a special feature page, live streaming via “Chijijik,” co-viewing with streamers, and AI-generated highlights.

Naver announced on the 10th that it has launched a special page for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games and will provide related services such as live streaming on Chijichik, co-viewing, and the Lounge.

Naver’s streaming platform, Chizichik, will broadcast live coverage of events aired on broadcast networks and major esports matches during the Asian Games, which run from the 19th to October 4. Coverage begins with the men’s national basketball team’s qualifying match at 4:00 p.m. today, ahead of the opening ceremony.

“Watch Together,” a signature viewing feature of Chizich, will also be available. Sports creators such as Shoot for Love, Park Jong-yun, Nongterman, and Yoo Hee-gwan will cheer on the games and share their reactions alongside various guests.

On-site content will also be expanded. Chijichik streamers and clip creators will be dispatched directly to the Asian Games venues to convey the atmosphere and on-site scenes both inside and outside the stadiums through live streams and clips. Naver expects this will allow users to experience not only the live broadcasts but also the excitement on the ground.

Enhancing Viewing Convenience for Multi-Sport Events with AI

Naver will also apply AI-based viewing convenience features to its coverage of the Asian Games. The company will introduce “AI Clips” and “AI Chapters”—features previously offered during the CONCACAF World Cup and the EWC (Esports World Cup 2026)—to the Asian Games as well.

AI Clips is a feature that helps users quickly review key moments during a match. AI Chapters divides match footage into segments, allowing users to easily find the sections they want to watch. Given the nature of the Asian Games, where multiple events take place simultaneously, these features are expected to help users quickly locate the matches they’re interested in and key moments.

A new feature called “Multi-Source Highlights” will also be introduced. This feature aggregates footage from multiple live broadcasts—grouped by player, team, or theme—into a single clip or video-on-demand (VOD) segment. It automatically selects and compiles key moments from multiple live feeds of the same broadcaster and provides them to that broadcaster’s channel.

The clips will also include Korean subtitles generated by converting key points from the Korean commentary using speech-to-text (STT) technology. Naver plans to enhance viewer convenience to make it easier to understand the games.

Schedule for 43 Sports and 469 Events

On its Asian Games special page, Naver also offers a schedule feature that allows users to view the schedules for 43 sports and a total of 469 events at a glance. This helps users easily find and conveniently watch the events they’re interested in.

It will also operate a dedicated Asian Games lounge. In the lounge, sports fans and experts can cheer on teams, analyze games, and engage in discussions, and various interactive events are scheduled to take place.

Following the Olympics, the World Cup, and the EWC, Naver is continuing its coverage of major sporting events with the Asian Games, thereby expanding its reach to sports content users. A Naver representative emphasized, “We will enhance the real-time sports viewing experience by combining live broadcasts, co-viewing features, on-site clips, and AI-based highlights.”
