[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] Hoshi, a member of the group SEVENTEEN, was injured while serving in the military.

On the 12th, Hoshi announced via the fan communication platform Weverse, “I injured my knee during practice with the Ground Forces performance team and underwent an examination, which revealed a complete tear of my anterior cruciate ligament.”
He explained, “Since I’ll need to focus on recovery for a while after surgery, I won’t be able to participate in the scheduled taekwondo demonstration event or the Ground Forces Festival,” while asking fans to continue supporting the performance team.
Hoshi said, “I had prepared diligently for these stages, which I had been looking forward to, so I’m very disappointed that I can’t participate, and I feel deeply sorry to the Carats (fan club name) who have been waiting for me.”
He continued, “I’ll undergo treatment properly, focus on my recovery, and return to you in good health as soon as possible,” adding, “Please don’t worry too much.”
The Ground Forces Festival will be held from the 1st to the 5th of next month at the Gyeryongdae Airfield in South Chungcheong Province. Hosted by the Army, it is South Korea’s largest military cultural festival—a non-profit event aimed at public interest, such as promoting the Army’s development and future policies to the public, enhancing trust in the military, and spreading positive values.
Hoshi enlisted in the Army as an active-duty soldier last September and is currently serving.
