[Edaily Starin Choi Hee-jae Reporter] A heartwarming story has emerged about TV personality Park Myung-soo providing financial support out of his own pocket to a production crew that had lost work.

Myeong-su” posted a video titled “Did You Think We Were Done? ‘Hal Myeong-su’ Is Back in Full Swing.” This comes two months after the channel had suspended operations.
“Hal Myeong-su” is a web variety show produced by JTBC Digital Studio. With over 1.7 million subscribers, it had established itself as JTBC’s flagship digital content; however, production was temporarily suspended last June after JTBC declared a default and faced financial difficulties when it failed to repay 20.6 billion won in securitized loans upon maturity.
In the video, Park Myung-soo asked the production staff, whom he hadn’t seen in a while, “Can we keep doing this?” and “Don’t go back on your word. You promised you’d do your best, didn’t you?” Upon arriving at JTBC, he expressed his delight, saying, “The company’s running smoothly. JTBC looks just fine.”
Regarding his feelings about resuming production after two months, Park Myung-soo said, “It was really disappointing when we couldn’t air the show. I’m so happy that things have returned to normal and we can do this again.”

The production team said, “Our subscribers were incredibly concerned about us.” While the channel was suspended, comments such as “Are the production staff still getting paid?” and “Stay strong, production team!” appeared on “Hal Myeong-su.” Upon seeing these, Park Myung-soo quipped, “Don’t worry about the broadcasting station or the celebrities,” drawing laughter.
The production team shared, “There’s a heartwarming story about our senior. He gave us pocket money (out of his own pocket).” One producer even shed tears of gratitude toward Park Myung-soo.
When asked why he gave the production staff pocket money out of his own pocket, Park Myung-soo explained, “When everything comes to a halt, they still have to pay their credit card bills and rent. As a responsible adult in society, I felt it would be shameful to just stand by and do nothing.”
Park Myeong-soo continued, “Since the production staff are in their 20s and 30s, I wasn’t particularly worried. At that age, you have to experience failure too—it becomes an asset.” He then joked, “You also have to be careful when choosing a company. You have to look at the financial statements and even check the CEO’s facial features.”
