Why INFINITT Healthcare’s Stock Price Soared to the Daily Limit
According to KG Zeroin MP Doctor (MP DOCTOR, formerly Market Point), INFINITT Healthcare’s stock shot straight to the daily upper limit right from the market open that day. As a result, the stock price soared to 11,310 won. The rise in INFINITT Healthcare’s stock price is attributed to news of a 65 billion won dividend.
On the 11th, after the market closed, INFINITT Healthcare announced a plan to pay cash dividends totaling 65.4 billion won for the 2026–2027 period to enhance shareholder value. The company plans to pay a total of 2,681 won per share, consisting of 820 won in the third quarter of 2026, a year-end dividend of 1,230 won for the 2026 fiscal year, and 631 won in the second quarter of 2027.
INFINITT Healthcare is a medical information technology (IT) company that develops and supplies medical imaging solutions. It develops and supplies hospitals with Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) for storing, managing, and transmitting medical images, as well as 3D medical imaging software.
INFINITT Healthcare’s dividend of approximately 65 billion won is based on accumulated retained earnings and financial assets. It is believed that INFINITT Healthcare’s decision to pay dividends was influenced by demands from minority shareholders, which have continued since last year, for improvements to corporate governance and greater shareholder returns.
The conflict between INFINITT Healthcare and its minority shareholders intensified when the minority shareholders raised concerns that, despite a prolonged absence of dividends, the company had been paying management consulting fees to SOLBORN, Inc., the largest shareholder, and maintaining a family-controlled corporate governance structure. Last year, minority shareholders attempted to dismiss the existing auditor and appoint a new one, but the matter escalated into a legal dispute after INFINITT Healthcare passed an amendment to the articles of incorporation that strengthened the eligibility requirements for auditors.
INFINITT Healthcare, which had maintained a policy of no dividends, introduced quarterly dividends in 2025 as the conflict with minority shareholders intensified and decided to return the full amount of its legally distributable funds—approximately 65.4 billion won—to shareholders.
An INFINITT Healthcare official stated, “This dividend does not involve any special allocation of funds; rather, we are proceeding with quarterly dividends by utilizing distributable funds available under the Commercial Act.”
stock price closed at 9,430 won, up 19.60% from the previous day. The rise in SAMIK PHARM. Co., LTD.’s stock price is attributed to expectations surrounding its long-acting injectable technology.
On the 14th, SAMIK PHARM. Co., LTD. announced that on the 27th of last month, it had completed the registration of a domestic patent for a long-acting microparticle technology capable of slowly releasing the immunomodulatory peptide thymosin alpha-1 in the body for up to four weeks. This patent covers formulation technology designed to reduce the burden of repeated administration for thymosin alpha-1, which requires frequent dosing.
Thymosin alpha-1 is a peptide that regulates immune function; however, it requires repeated administration to maintain its therapeutic effect, which can be inconvenient. To alleviate this inconvenience, SAMIK PHARM. Co., LTD. developed a method of encapsulating the drug within extremely small, biodegradable polymer particles. These particles gradually degrade within the body over a set period. During this process, the cyclosporine alpha-1 contained within is also released in small amounts. The formulation is designed so that the drug is released continuously over a period of up to four weeks, rather than all at once.
SAMIK PHARM. Co., LTD. stated, “Based on this patented technology, we will be able to reduce the frequency of injections compared to current treatments and, ultimately, pursue the development of a long-acting cymosin alpha-1 injection that requires only once-monthly administration.”
However, a cautious approach is necessary, as opinions are divided on whether SAMIK PHARM. Co., LTD.’s long-acting injectable technology actually possesses commercial competitiveness. Furthermore, this patent does not immediately imply the commercialization of a once-monthly product; additional research and regulatory approval procedures are required to develop it into an actual pharmaceutical product.
Some analysts suggest that the rise in SAMIK PHARM. Co., LTD.’s stock price is due not only to the patent acquisition but also to spillover benefits from news related to Peptron, Inc., another domestic long-acting injectable drug company. On the 11th, Peptron, Inc. stated on its website, “October 7 marks the date related to the basic term of the joint research agreement with Eli Lilly; it does not signify the deadline for signing a follow-up commercial agreement.”
Through a platform technology evaluation agreement signed on October 7, 2024, Peptron, Inc. and Lilly agreed to assess whether Peptron, Inc.’s SmartDepot technology could be applied to Lilly’s peptide drugs, and Peptron, Inc. granted Lilly a non-exclusive license. In a corrected disclosure last December, Peptron, Inc. added the condition of “up to 24 months” to the contract period, which had originally been stated as “approximately 14 months,” and the market had expected a decision on whether to sign the contract by October 7 of this year.
However, following Peptron, Inc.’s explanation on the 11th, uncertainty regarding whether the contract would be signed increased, causing Peptron, Inc.’s stock price to fall 5.27% to 138,300 won that day.
