[Edaily Reporter SOYEON KIM ] SamsungElectronics and LGELECTRONICS will both participate in the "International Climate Industry Expo," taking place from the 16th to the 18th at BEXCO in Busan. At the expo, they will showcase energy-saving solutions through high-efficiency home appliances.

This year’s International Climate Industry Expo is being held under the theme “The Massive Change Brought About by Climate Tech: A Leap Toward a Decarbonized World.”

◇ Samsung Highlights EHS All-in-One… Exhibits High-Efficiency AI Home Appliances
At this exhibition, SamsungElectronics has set up a dedicated exhibition hall spanning approximately 270 square meters (about 82 pyeong) to present a wide range of energy-saving solutions—from everyday home appliances to artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and HVAC solutions for large commercial facilities. The company aims to highlight its leadership in energy technology within the global market.

The exhibition hall is designed to allow visitors to intuitively experience SamsungElectronics’ energy solutions—which span residential, commercial, and industrial sectors—through screens placed throughout the space and lighting effects synchronized with the displayed devices.

SamsungElectronics highlighted its “EHS All-in-One,” a high-efficiency heat pump solution. The EHS All-in-One is a residential heat pump solution that integrates cooling, heating, and hot water supply into a single outdoor unit. In particular, it is optimized for South Korea’s climate, which features distinct four seasons. Through the exhibition, SamsungElectronics demonstrated year-round operating scenarios, including winter heating, summer cooling, and hot water supply in spring and fall.

The “EHS Heat Pump Boiler,” also on display, is a high-efficiency heating solution that utilizes natural ambient air heat and electricity to provide indoor heating and hot water. It is being fully introduced and adopted in the domestic market in conjunction with the government’s recent initiative to promote the electrification of heating.

SamsungElectronics also unveiled its heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) product portfolio, developed in collaboration with FläktGroup, which it acquired last year. In addition, the company displayed high-efficiency, Grade 1 home appliances—including refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, dishwashers, and induction cooktops—in a space designed to resemble a real-life residential setting. A dedicated area was set up for visitors to experience the “AI Power-Saving Mode,” showcasing this useful energy-saving feature.

◇ LGELECTRONICS Presents AI-Based High-Efficiency Residential Solutions
LGELECTRONICS also introduced high-efficiency residential solutions powered by AI, ranging from heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) to home appliances, TVs, and displays.

LGELECTRONICS highlighted the high-efficiency all-in-one “LG Therma V Heat Pump Boiler,” which was recently launched in the domestic market. This high-efficiency heating solution, based on an air-source heat pump, incorporates the technological expertise accumulated through LG Electronics’ ongoing heat pump business in global markets since 2008. The product generates approximately 4 to 5 times more thermal energy than the power input, enabling energy cost savings of about 40–60% compared to conventional fossil fuel boilers.

Alongside the heat pump boiler, the company showcased: △ the “LG Whisen AI Objet Collection Tower I Air Conditioner,” which won this year’s Energy Winner Daesang and the Minister of Climate, Energy, and Environment Award; △ the “LG MULTI V i” and “LG Whisen AI System Air Conditioner,” featuring AI-based operation control technology; and △ the “LG Premium Ventilation Plus.”

In the Home Appliances Zone, LG Corp. introduced products such as the △LG Tromm AI Objet Collection Wash Combo, △LG Tromm AI Objet Collection Wash Tower, and △LG Tromm AI Objet Collection Dryer. In addition, it showcased products that help save energy in daily life, including the Styler, water purifiers, induction cooktops, and dishwashers.

In the Media & Display Zone, LG Corp. showcased display technologies designed to reduce energy consumption. Notable examples include the “LG e-Paper Display,” which reduces power consumption by more than 99% compared to conventional digital signage, and the “LG StandbyMe 2 Max,” which lowers standby power consumption to 0.5W or less.

LGELECTRONICS is also highlighting various initiatives aimed at resource recycling and carbon reduction, in addition to its high-efficiency products for everyday life. By applying lightweight composite fiber materials to its OLED TVs, LGELECTRONICS has reduced plastic usage to about 40% of that used in LCD TVs of the same size. This year, LGELECTRONICS is projected to use approximately 15,000 metric tons less plastic in the manufacture of OLED TVs compared to LCD TVs.

LGELECTRONICS is also unveiling the “LG Smart Cottage,” a modular home that integrates AI home appliances and heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) technology. The LG Smart Cottage offers a unique experience where AI home appliances and Internet of Things (IoT) devices are seamlessly connected and operate with optimal energy efficiency.
