KOSDAQ Trades Sideways… Foreign and Institutional Investors Sell in Unison
[Edaily Reporter Shin Ha-yeon ] The KOSPI continued its upward trend into the afternoon, rising by over 1% and regaining the 6,700 level. Although the New York stock market fell overnight due to rising international oil prices and U.S. Treasury yields, the domestic market is seeing the index rise as institutional investors made net purchases of nearly 1 trillion won. In contrast, foreign investors are making net sales of over 1.2 trillion won. The KOSDAQ has recovered its intraday losses and is currently fluctuating around the flat line. (Seoul=Yonhap News) According to MP Doctor on the 16th, as of 1:09 p.m. today, the KOSPI is trading at 6,711.45, up 84.19 points (1.27%) from the previous trading day. The index opened at 6,611.24 and fell as low as 6,598.87 during the session, but later turned higher, reaching a session high of 6,714.75. In terms of supply and demand, institutional investors are currently the only net buyers in the stock market, with net purchases totaling 972.4 billion won. In contrast, foreign investors and retail investors are net sellers, with net sales of 1.2731 trillion won and 852.6 billion won, respectively. Program trading, combining arbitrage and non-arbitrage trades, shows a net selling position of 594.4 billion won. Among the top market-cap stocks, SamsungElectronics(005930)is trading at 253,500 won, up 5,000 won (2.01%) from the previous trading day. SK hynix(000660)is trading at 1.75 million won, up 58,000 won (3.43%). In addition, SKSQUARE(402340)(1.30%), SamsungElectroMechanics(009150)(3.95%), and #LG Energy Solution (1.50%) are also on the rise. At the same time, the KOSDAQ Index is trading at 812.08, down 0.33 points (0.04%) from the previous trading day. The KOSDAQ Index, which opened at 808.37 today, fell as low as 801.12 during the session but recovered most of its losses, reaching a high of 812.15. In the KOSDAQ market, retail investors are net buyers of 89.8 billion won. In contrast, foreign and institutional investors are net sellers of 62.0 billion won and 25.1 billion won, respectively. Program trading shows a net selling volume of 122.2 billion won. Among the top market-cap stocks, Alteogen Inc.(196170)(-2.12%), ECOPRO CO., LTD(086520)(-2.49%), ECOPRO BM CO., LTD.(247540)(-2.34%), and Rainbow Robotics(277810)(-1.38%) are trading lower.
