According to legal sources on the 17th, the 7th Civil Division of the Seongnam Branch of the Suwon District Court ruled in favor of the plaintiff in part in a lawsuit for damages filed by Ms. A against Sook-haeng. The specific amount of compensation was not disclosed. Ms. A filed the lawsuit last year, alleging that Sook-haeng had an inappropriate relationship with her husband, leading to the breakdown of her marriage.
This controversy first came to light in December of last year through a broadcast of JTBC’s “Case Squad.” The episode featured a housewife in her 40s alleging that a female trot singer was having an affair with her husband. The broadcast also revealed CCTV footage showing a man and a woman engaging in intimate acts inside an elevator.
Subsequently, Suk-haeng was identified as the woman in question. This was based on the explanation that the female singer had become well-known through a trot competition program in 2019 and was currently appearing on other competition programs as well.
In response, Sook-haeng posted a handwritten statement on social media, saying, “I sincerely apologize for causing concern due to the recent personal matter that has come to light.”
She continued, “I will withdraw from MBN’s ‘The King of Singers 3’ to prevent any further harm,” adding, “I am sorry for causing trouble to my colleagues and the production staff, who are doing their best in the competition.” She also stated, “I will clarify all the facts through legal proceedings at a later date.”
Through the show *Case Chief*, Sook-haeng also stated, “I began the relationship believing that his marriage was already broken,” asserting that she, too, is a victim.
Meanwhile, it has been reported that Sook-haeng plans to resume her activities with a concert. The Fact reported that day that Sook-haeng will hold a concert titled “A Special Time with Fans: Back to Singing” on the 30th at the Arte Seoul Muse Hall in Seoul.
