[Edaily Starin, Reporter YUN GI BACK ] Soyeon of the group iDOL has topped domestic music charts with “I’m Quitting.” The relatable lyrics, which touch on the realities of office life, have resonated not only with her fanbase but also with the general public, reaffirming her presence as a solo artist.

As of 8 a.m. on the 17th, “I’m Quitting” (Narr. Ki-an 84), the title track from Soyeon’s first full-length album *An Amazing Life*, claimed the No. 1 spot on Melon’s Top 100. It also topped the Melon Hot 100, Genie Top 200, Naver Vibe Top 100, and FLO All-Age Chart, while reaching No. 2 on the Bugs Real-Time Chart. As of the previous day, it ranked No. 2 on the daily charts for Melon, Genie, and Bugs, and No. 1 on the Vibe daily chart.
It’s notable that the song’s success is driven more by widespread public resonance than by mere fandom support. “I’m Quitting” is a track that expresses the frustration and desire to break free from the daily grind of office life through Soyeon’s signature blunt and direct lyrics. With the addition of Ki-an 84’s narration, the track tackles the universal theme of “quitting a job” in a lighthearted and humorous way. It is gaining traction as a “relatable song,” climbing to the top ranks on platforms used in everyday life, such as KakaoTalk Profile Music and YouTube Music.
On YouTube Music, it ranked 4th on the weekly popular songs chart and also made it to the top spots on the “Trending” and “Daily Popular Music Videos” charts. As of the 15th, it ranked 2nd on KakaoTalk Profile Music. It also ranked 8th on Spotify’s Korea Daily Chart, continuing its upward trend across streaming platforms.
International reactions are also pouring in. “An Amazing Life” has surpassed 750,000 yuan in album sales on China’s QQ Music, earning a “Triple Gold” certification, and continues to hold the No. 1 spot on the overall weekly best-selling digital album chart. The song is expanding its reach by resonating with office workers in Korea as a relatable anthem and by showcasing Soyeon’s personal musical brand in the Chinese-speaking world.
Through her agency, Cube Entertainment, Soyeon shared her thoughts, saying, “I really can’t believe I’m number one,” and added, “I’m grateful to the many people who love my music and to Neverland.” She continued, “I will continue to create music that serves as a small breath of fresh air in everyone’s lives.”
