[Edaily Starin Gim Ga Yeong Reporter] SBS’s “Master Hang-jun,” starring Director Jang Hang-jun, Song Eun-i, and Kim Pung, has confirmed its premiere for October 15.

“Master Jang Hang-jun” follows Jang Hang-jun—who was at times pathetic, at times obsequious, yet more brilliant than anyone else—as he conducts secret auditions to cast top actors for his autobiographical film “Master Jang Hang-jun.” The show promises a series of witty, back-and-forth exchanges between the “master” Jang Hang-jun and the stars.
Powerful, sharp-tongued figures who keep Jang Hang-jun in check will serve as his right-hand man and left-hand man. Song Eun-i—the only person in Korea besides writer Kim Eun-hee who can truly manipulate Jang Hang-jun—will step in as the production company’s CEO. Having actually produced Jang Hang-jun’s previous film, *Open the Door*, and even invested in *Rebound*, Song Eun-i is set to portray a down-to-earth production company CEO who keeps Jang Hang-jun’s reckless rampage in check. She will alternately assist Jang Hang-jun—who charges ahead like a runaway train—and act as his brake, showcasing her qualities as the ultimate partner. Kim Pung is also joining the cast. Kim Pung, whom Director Jang Hang-jun has described as his mentor and muse, is set to serve as an assistant director, leveraging the sharp insight he gained as a former film journalist.
The production team of “Master Jang Hang-jun” has also unveiled a teaser poster. Filled with the ambition to become the godfather of the Korean film industry, the teaser poster captures the audience’s attention with a charismatic image of Director Jang Hang-jun seated in a godfather-style chair.
Meanwhile, Director Jang Hang-jun achieved “10-million-viewer director” status after his film *The Man Who Lives with the King*, released last February, drew 16.93 million viewers. *The Man Who Lives with the King* is a film set in Cheongnyeongpo in 1457, telling the story of a village chief who voluntarily exiled himself to revitalize his village and a young former king who was forced from the throne and exiled. Actors Park Ji-hoon and Yoo Hae-jin delivered moving performances.
Director Jang Hang-jun, now a “10-million-viewer director,” hosts a new variety show titled “Master Hang-jun,” which airs every Thursday at 9:00 p.m. on SBS.
