[Edaily Reporter KIM EUNG-TAE ] Life solutions company COWAY(021240)has unveiled a “wearable walking assistance robot” designed to help seniors walk. The company plans to officially launch the product this October and begin its robot rental business in earnest.

According to COWAY on the 22nd, the newly unveiled product is a wearable robot developed in collaboration with the global robotics company “WIRobotics.” It assists the user’s walking effort to enable comfortable walking and can be used for a variety of activities, ranging from everyday walks to climbing stairs and hiking.
Weighing just 1.6 kg, this ultra-lightweight product features an ergonomic design that minimizes the burden on the user. The main unit is worn around the waist and connected to leg straps, allowing for easy use even over everyday clothing.
It also supports various walking modes that users can select based on their walking environment and intended use. It provides a “Smart Walking Report” feature through a dedicated app, allowing users to check their walking status and track changes over time.
It is available in three colors: Pebble Gray, Pale Navy, and Sand Beige. The new product is scheduled to be released exclusively for rental.
Prior to the official launch, COWAY is running a special promotion for customers who sign up for a preliminary consultation. Customers who book a preliminary consultation and then sign up for a new rental of the walking assistance wearable robot will receive a 50% discount on the rental fee for the first two months. Preliminary consultations and reservations can be made through the official website, Coway.com, or via sales representatives such as KODI Co.,LTD.
COWAY plans to expand its rental business portfolio, starting with the launch of this wearable robot. Previously, at its annual shareholders’ meeting held last March, the company amended its articles of incorporation to include new business objectives such as the manufacture of robots and pet care devices, as well as the manufacture and sale of orthopedic and posture-correction devices. A COWAY spokesperson stated, “We will continue to introduce a variety of rental products that make daily life more convenient by adapting to changing customer needs and lifestyles.”
