According to entertainment industry sources on the 26th, Choi Soo-jong’s mother, Lee Sook-kyung, passed away on the 25th. She was 89 years old.
The wake for the deceased has been set up in Special Room 1 at the Yonsei University Sinchon Severance Funeral Home in Seodaemun-gu, Seoul. Choi Soo-jong and Ha Hee-ra are reportedly keeping vigil at the wake alongside their family members.
Condolences may be paid starting at 1:00 p.m. on the 26th. The funeral procession will depart at 8:00 a.m. on the 29th, and the burial will take place at Yongin Rodem Park in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province.
Choi Soo-jong made his debut in 1987 with the KBS drama *The Tree Where Love Blooms*. He appeared in dramas such as “Jealousy,” “Sons and Daughters,” “First Love,” “Legend of Ambition,” “Taejong Wang Geon,” “War of the Roses,” and “Dae Jo-yeong.” He also won the Grand Prize at the “2023 KBS Drama Awards” for his role in the epic historical drama “The Goryeo-Khitan War,” which concluded in 2024.
Choi Soo-jong married actress Ha Hee-ra in 1993, and they have one son and one daughter.
