ONLY NEW Entertainment, a newly established agency, announced on the 28th that it “has signed an exclusive contract with NEW.”
NEW debuted in the music industry as a member of THE BOYZ in 2017 and expanded his scope of activities by appearing in the musical “Romeo and Juliet,” which ran from March to May at the KEPCO Art Center.
The members of THE BOYZ recently parted ways with their former agency, One Hundred Label. Previously, nine members—Sangyeon, Jacob, Younghoon, Hyunjae, Juyeon, Kevin, Q, Seonwoo, and Eric—had already left their former agency. In February, they notified the agency of their intention to terminate their exclusive contracts, citing unpaid settlement funds and a breach of trust. Subsequently, the court granted their request for a preliminary injunction to suspend the exclusive contracts.
New, who did not participate in the lawsuit at the time, has also terminated his exclusive contract with One Hundred Label ahead of his fresh start. The nine members of THE BOYZ who parted ways with One Hundred Label earlier announced on the 14th that they plan to continue their group activities through the newly established agency, Seven Eight Records. New has not yet made a clear statement regarding whether he will leave THE BOYZ.
