[Edaily Reporter Lee So-Hyun ] Naver (NAVER(035420)) Whale is evolving into an artificial intelligence (AI) browser that not only understands, summarizes, and translates the web page currently being viewed and answers questions, but also manages tabs and schedules. Marking its 10th anniversary, it has revamped its identity as an AI-centric browser by updating its logo and brand slogan.

Naver announced on the 1st that it has officially launched “AI Chat” on the Whale browser.

AI Chat is a feature that answers questions based on the content of the page currently being viewed or a tab specified by the user. When summarizing long texts or translating foreign-language pages, users can make requests directly from the sidebar without having to copy and paste the URL or text separately.

Users can view AI responses and ask follow-up questions while keeping the page they were reading open. Useful answers can be saved to the “Scrapbook” for later reference.

It is also integrated with the existing “Quick Search” feature. By dragging a sentence or specific area on a web page and then selecting AI Chat in Quick Search, users can immediately start a conversation based on that content.

This allows users to ask questions about and view answers regarding the selected portion without having to copy and paste the content separately.

From organizing tabs to managing your schedule

In addition to searching for information, the feature also performs necessary tasks right within the browser. You can organize open tabs via AI Chat, and by connecting to Naver Calendar, you can view, add, and edit events.

For certain actions—such as adding an event to your calendar—that cannot be easily undone, the system prompts you for confirmation before executing them.

The AI also proactively suggests necessary actions based on the content of the current page. For example, it suggests translation for pages in foreign languages or summarization for pages with long text. Users can select the suggested action and execute it immediately.

10 Years Since Launch… Logo and Slogan Updated

To mark its 10th anniversary, Whale has also revamped its brand identity. The new slogan is “Journey to the Next AI Browsing.” It embodies the vision of seamlessly integrating information exploration and practical tasks within the browser through the use of AI.

The whale-inspired symbol has been refined for a cleaner look, and the primary color has been changed to a deep blue hue.
